My professional background is diverse and encompasses public-research, academic and international libraries. I started my library career at the Stephen A. Schwarzman Building of The New York Public Library where I provided research services in the humanities, social sciences, Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. After this role, I became an academic librarian at New York University Shanghai in the People’s Republic of China. For two years, I worked in a team to build the foundation of the library for the first Sino-American joint venture university focusing on scholarly activities in GIS, digital scholarship and data management services.

Currently, I am the first year student success librarian at Fresno State in California where I coordinate first year information literacy and student engagement programs across campus. At the IFLA level, I have been recently involved in the Continuing Professional Development and Workplace Learning (CPDWL) Section in planning for WLIC workshops and supporting social media communications efforts (2016).

Personally, I am multilingual with a multicultural background and have established contacts with academic librarians and archivists from all over the world from Bhutan to Cuba to Australia. I believe I can bring a wealth of knowledge, new perspectives and activities for the ARL Section and IFLA-at-large. I am particularly interested in promoting social justice, diversity and inclusivity in academic/research librarianship. I would be honored to advance ARL’s scholarly agendas and collaborations.

Selected Publications:

Edited Volumes

Asian Pacific American Librarians and Library Services Today edited by Janet H.
