The training was developed at the Mortenson Center for International Library Programs\u00a0in partnership with librarians around the world from Armenia, Bhutan, Haiti, India, Myanmar, Namibia, and Nepal<a href=\"#_ftn1\" name=\"_ftnref1\">[1]<\/a>.\u00a0The project is funded by the Global Libraries Program of the Bill &amp; Melinda Gates Foundation<a href=\"#_ftn2\" name=\"_ftnref2\">[2]<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>SILL was developed to be used by <strong>trainers<\/strong> with different levels of training experience and familiarity with the topic.\u00a0It is also designed to be easily adapted to the local library context and translated into different languages.<\/p>\n<p>The training is divided into 4 interactive modules focusing on Leadership, Innovation, Planning, and Communication, The learning modules are:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"39\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"594\"><strong>1. Leadership Styles for Librarians<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This module will define the concept of \u201cleadership\u201d and introduce Goleman\u2019s 6 styles of leadership.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"39\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"594\"><strong>2. Library Leaders as Innovators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This module will introduce library innovation trends, approaches, and strategies.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"39\"><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"594\"><strong>3. Library Leaders with a Plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This module will outline how to create realistic goals and plans<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"39\"><\/td>\n<td width=\"594\"><strong>4. Library Leaders as Communicators<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Participants will learn about the 4 communication styles and identify the style they use most often.
