Two of the award-winning programmes are featured in UIL\u2019s Effective Literacy Practices Database (LitBase).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/mail.csulb.edu\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=LHWdzYH9YUCMQs3r94d-jSrYGWpCftAIxad4oAGLnves3aBXGZbdPnmyNOxF075ccNiiIJVy_K0.&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.unesco.org%2fuil%2flitbase%2f%3fmenu%3d9%26programme%3d132\" target=\"_blank\">The Saakshar Bharat (Literate India) Mission<\/a> will receive one of the two UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prizes. Run by the <i>National Literacy Mission Authority<\/i> of the <i>Ministry of Human Resource Development,<\/i> the programme aims to promote and strengthen adult learning in India.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Dhaka Ahsania Mission<\/i> in Bangladesh is among the three UNESCO Confucius Literacy Prizes winners. <a href=\"https:\/\/mail.csulb.edu\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=LHWdzYH9YUCMQs3r94d-jSrYGWpCftAIxad4oAGLnves3aBXGZbdPnmyNOxF075ccNiiIJVy_K0.&amp;URL=http%3a%2f%2fwww.unesco.org%2fuil%2flitbase%2f%3fmenu%3d4%26programme%3d115\" target=\"_blank\"> The \u201cGanokendra\u201d (People\u2019s Centre) Programme<\/a> they implement provides all community members with skills training opportunities.\u00a0 Every year, UNESCO awards two International Literacy Prizes (the King Sejong Prize and the Confucius Prize) to excellent and innovative institutions, organisations and individuals in the field of literacy throughout the world.
