Celebrate Your Children\u2019s Literature Heritage with a Literary Landmark<\/b>

2019 marks the 100th<\/sup>Anniversary of Children\u2019s Book Week, an event sponsored by theChildren\u2019s Book Council<\/a><\/b><\/span>and\u00a0Every Child A Reader<\/a><\/b><\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0Since 2015 communities around the country have celebrated Children\u2019s Book Week by dedicating a Literary Landmark plaque a site that has a connection to a children\u2019s author or a particular children book.\u00a0\u00a0The Literary Landmark Register is a project of\u00a0United for Libraries<\/a><\/b><\/span>, a division of the\u00a0American Library Association<\/a><\/b><\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/i><\/p>\n

Children\u2019s Book Week will be April 29 \u2013 May 5, 2019.\u00a0There are already two landmarks planned in New York State being coordinating by the\u00a0Empire State Center for the Book<\/a><\/b><\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0The 100th<\/sup>Anniversary of Children\u2019s Book Week will be celebrated throughout 2019 so Literary Landmarks can be dedication throughout the year.\u00a0\u00a0Robert McCloskey<\/b>(Ohio),\u00a0Walter Dean Myers<\/b>(New York),\u00a0Barbara Cooney<\/b>(Massachuetts) and\u00a0Margaret Wise Brown<\/b>(Rhode Island) have all been recognized in past years.<\/i><\/p>\n
