Advocacy is about conversations.<\/p>\n

You need to engage decision-makers \u2013 and the people that influence them \u2013 and build their understanding of the importance of libraries. In this way, you can encourage them to take action!<\/p>\n

But how to start that conversation? A great way to do it is to create a talking point \u2013 something that people can ask about.<\/p>\n

So for our 13th<\/sup> 10-Minute Library Advocate, wear a pin or a badge about libraries!<\/p>\n

You can wear this at work, but also outside, for example when you attend public meetings or even just in your daily life.<\/p>\n

Perhaps your association already produces pins or badges, or you could find a way to create your own. Don\u2019t forget to make it attractive and interesting \u2013 something that encourages questions from people you\u2019re talking to.<\/p>\n

You can share your pictures of your favourites on social media with the hashtag #EveryLibrarianAnAdvocate<\/a>!<\/p>\n
