{"id":3082,"date":"2021-05-25T17:13:13","date_gmt":"2021-05-25T15:13:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/lpa\/?p=3082"},"modified":"2021-05-25T17:13:13","modified_gmt":"2021-05-25T15:13:13","slug":"the-10-minute-international-librarian-53-think-of-a-successful-shared-action","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/lpa\/2021\/05\/25\/the-10-minute-international-librarian-53-think-of-a-successful-shared-action\/","title":{"rendered":"The 10-Minute International Librarian #53: Think of a successful shared action"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Collaboration, arguably, comes naturally to the library field.<\/p>\n<p>From in-person teamwork to provide services and events, to cross-border collaborations in order to provide access to knowledge, we achieve more by working together.<\/p>\n<p>There is also, of course, ever greater emphasis on the value of working with partners outside of the field, combining the unique strengths of libraries with those of other organisations or individuals.<\/p>\n<p>While it\u2019s not always easy, collaboration can be fun, and is often a great way to innovate by crossing ideas, insights and experiences.<\/p>\n<p>It is also at the heart of the IFLA Strategy , which is focused on looking for alignments and opportunities for cooperation.<\/p>\n<p>So for our 53<sup>rd<\/sup> 10-Minute International Librarian exercise, think of a successful shared action.<\/p>\n<p>Look at your own experience, and times where you have achieved things by working with others, in particular those outside of your immediate circle.<\/p>\n<p>What made it work? What lessons did you learn?
