Members voted in favour of dissolution, which was recommended alongside the vision to replace CLA with a national federation of library associations.<\/p>\n<p>For many years, the Association had been facing significant financial issues. Executive Council worked with library association representatives across Canada to develop a proposal for a new national association: a federation of the many regional and sector-specific library associations in Canada.<\/p>\n<p>In June 2016, the Canadian Library Association will hold her last national conference and pass on the role as serving as a national voice for Canada\u2019s many library communities to the newly forming: Canadian Federation of Library Associations\/F\u00e9d\u00e9ration canadienne des associations de biblioth\u00e8ques (CFLA\/FCAB).
