In 2015\/16 alone there were 177 million book loans and 211 million visits to libraries in England &#8211; more than the total attendance at English Premier League football matches, cinema admissions in England and the top 10 UK tourist attractions combined.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">The report demonstartes that public libraries in England contribute to cultural and creative enrichment<br \/>\n\u25cf increased reading and literacy<br \/>\n\u25cf increased digital access and literacy<br \/>\n\u25cf helping everyone achieve their full potential<br \/>\n\u25cf healthier and happier lives<br \/>\n\u25cf greater prosperity<br \/>\n\u25cf stronger, more resilient communities<\/p>\n<p>However the report indicates that the way in which people use libraries and their expectations \u00a0are changing.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>CILIP&#8217;s PMLG Newsletter reports that\u00a0the Annual Report to Parliament,\u00a0reports \u00a0that Libraries are still popular and there are a large number of visits each year.
