So I am very happy to have the opportunity to participate\u00a0at the International Advocacy Programme (IAP).<\/p>\n<p>What is IAP? \u00a0IFLA<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifla.org\/node\/11048?og=7409\" target=\"_blank\"> launched the\u00a0International Advocacy Programme (IAP)<\/a>\u00a0in 2016, as a capacity-building program designed to promote and support the role libraries can play in the planning and implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda and the Sustainable Development Goals.<\/p>\n<div id=\"page\">\n<div id=\"content\">\n<div id=\"primary\">\n<div class=\"region region-content\">\n<div id=\"block-system-main\" class=\"block block-system\">\n<div class=\"content\">\n<p>The <strong>objectives<\/strong> of the IAP are to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Raise the level of awareness on the SDGs of library workers at community, national and regional levels, and to promote the important role libraries can play in development by contributing to the UN 2030 Agenda and the SDGs;<\/li>\n<li>Increase the participation of library associations and public library representatives in advocacy work at national and regional levels to secure sustainable public access to information through library services and programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You can find additional information on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifla.org\/node\/11149\">IFLA website<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; One aim of my engagement with \u00a0IFLA is to make the value\/importance of libraries more visible.
