The theme for this conference <em>Without borders: the integrated library<\/em> is applicable to all public libraries and the speakers provided much valuable food for thought.<\/p>\n<p>The conference was held in the stunning <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oba.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">Amsterdam Public Library <\/a>(OBA) and also included visits to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denieuwebibliotheek.nl\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Library of Almere<\/a>, which has adopted a retail concept, and the Library at the newly re-furbished and re-opened Rijksmuseum.<\/p>\n<p>Watch the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ifla.org\/metropolitan-libraries\/conferences\" target=\"_blank\">Metropolitan Libraries <\/a>site for the papers from this conference.<\/p>\n<p>Thank you to everyone at OBA for your hospitality.
