These awards are\u00a0offered by the IFLA Section on Management and Marketing in collaboration with Emerald Group Publishing Limited. The Award honors organizations that implement creative, results-oriented marketing projects or campaigns. This year\u00a0there were 20 applicants from 12 countries including Australia, Canada, India, Russia, Spain, and USA. The first place winner will be announced <em>officially<\/em> at the IFLA press conference at Singapore in August 2013, (time and place to be announced). Second and third place winners will be announced also and awarded with distinctions.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.saskatoonlibrary.ca\/\">Saskatoon Public Library<\/a>, Saskatoon, Canada who have been awarded second place. The library launched a six-month re-branding campaign, <em>Collections-Connections<\/em> and solicited broad input from existing and potential library patrons as well as potential donors and library stakeholders. The tag line of the new logo \u2013 Collections. Connections. \u2013 reflects the foundation of the library (its collection) and portrays the connections the library strives to make with the community.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cwl.nsw.gov.au\/\">Central West Libraries<\/a>, Orange, Australia who were highly commended for the project <em>24 Hour Read.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.libraryinjonesboro.org\/\">Craighead County Jonesboro Public Library <\/a>(USA) who were highly commended for the project <em>Meme Your Library.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Khasavjurt City Central Library (Russia) who were highly commended for the project <em>Around the World in Forty<\/em><br \/>\n<em>Weeks<\/em><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Your colleagues in public libraries everywhere raise a glass to your success.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; It was great to see a number of public libraries named in the list of\u00a0finalists for the 11th IFLA International Marketing Award for 2013.
