The EIFL Public Library Innovation Awards recognize innovative library services that improve lives in their communities. The awards are open to all public and community libraries in developing and transition countries.<\/p>\n<p>The libraries contribute to education of people of all ages \u2013 children, youth and adults. They provide support for children attending school, helping them improve in important school subjects, and they provide exciting opportunities for formal and non-formal education for adults.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kenya &#8211; \u2018Dr Robert Ouko\u2019 Memorial Community Library, for providing children with desperately needed textbooks, literature and reference books through an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eifl.net\/eifl-in-action\/supporting-education-innovation-award-0\">e-readers programme<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Latvia &#8211; Pel\u010di Library, whose <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eifl.net\/eifl-in-action\/supporting-education-innovation-award-1\">\u2018Little school of local history\u2019 <\/a>is educating children about history in an exciting way.<\/li>\n<li>Mexico &#8211; Public Library \u2018Victoria Dorantes\u2019 No. 382, whose <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eifl.net\/eifl-in-action\/supporting-education-innovation-award-2\">online education programme <\/a>is helping to build a positive learning environment in families.<\/li>\n<li>Moldova &#8211; \u2018B. P. Hasdeu\u2019 Municipal Library, which created a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.eifl.net\/eifl-in-action\/supporting-education-innovation-award\">dynamic summer learning centre <\/a>in a city amusement park.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Each winner receives a prize of US$1,500, a certificate and a trophy.Awards will be presented during international library events.
