{"id":687,"date":"2015-01-27T02:57:10","date_gmt":"2015-01-27T01:57:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/?p=687"},"modified":"2015-01-27T02:57:10","modified_gmt":"2015-01-27T01:57:10","slug":"technology-facilitating-access-to-information-libraries-for-development","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/2015\/01\/27\/technology-facilitating-access-to-information-libraries-for-development\/","title":{"rendered":"Technology facilitating access to information: libraries for development"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The\u00a0Public Libraries Section together with the Information Technology\u00a0 Section,\u00a0Asia and Oceania Section and the Library and Research Services for Parliaments Section are seeking proposals for papers to be presented at a session\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/conference.ifla.org\/ifla81\/node\/994\"><em>Technology<\/em> <em>facilitating access to information: libraries for development<\/em><\/a> during the IFLA World Library and Information Congress in Cape Town, South Africa 15-21, August 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Libraries (and research centres) play a central role in facilitating access to information, particularly in supporting community-based solutions to meet the information needs around development.
