More than 125 employees receive training in new mindsets and skills for meetings with lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people. The training, that is carried out by RFSL (the Swedish Federation for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Rights) will be completed in November 2015.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-910 size-medium\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image3-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"image3\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image3-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image3-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image3-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image3.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Working with LGBTQ issues in libraries is to stand up for all people&#8217;s equal rights and in various ways work with the concrete meaning of this in our daily lives. The aim of this is an open and inclusive library environment. During this training we who work at Malm\u00f6 City Library learn more about LGBTQ (Lesbian\/ Gay\/ Bi\/ Transgender\/ Queer) issues and deepen our knowledge of literature and films in this area as well. The aim is a better meeting with all people of Malm\u00f6.\u2028\u2028&#8221;We work actively for everybody&#8217;s right to their own expression beyond the standards.&#8221;<br \/>\nFor each individual, this means two and a half days of training. Alongside this training, we work with LGBTQ issues in everything from policy documents to marketing.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-912\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image1-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"image1\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image1-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image1-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image1-1024x1024.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With regard to practical library work, this entails, among other things, improving our ability to find literature with LGBTQ content and make visible to the visitor where this literature is located, for example by creating rainbow shelves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image2JPG.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-911\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image2JPG-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"image2JPG\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image2JPG-300x300.jpg 300w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image2JPG-150x150.jpg 150w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image2JPG-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blogs.ifla.org\/public-libraries\/files\/2015\/10\/image2JPG.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>On October 12\u201318, an LGBTQ week was organised at Malm\u00f6 City Library, with, among other things, a book and comics fair that focussed on LGBTQ.\u00a0 A game designer told us about queer games and a conversation took place between Malm\u00f6&#8217;s Free City Author and LGBTQ activist Jude Dibia, Cihan Arikan from RFSL Newcomer Malm\u00f6 and Jay Seipel from Malm\u00f6 mot Diskriminering (Malm\u00f6 Against Discrimination).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; &nbsp; Malm\u00f6 City Library is Sweden first big city library to become LGBTQ certified.
