Others who share an interest in advancing the field of school librarianship, including publishers, vendors, authors, illustrators, architects, psychologists, economists, and journalists, are also welcome to submit proposals.<\/p>\n<p>Proposals should clearly relate to one or more of the Conference sub-themes:<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School library as a cognitive resource for the development of education<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New brands of school library: information culture and e-environment in the context of cognitive sciences development<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School library on the map of cognitive future<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School library in a rapidly changing world<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School library as a forming center of personal information culture<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 The world of school libraries\u2019 worlds: searching for harmony, intelligence, technology, culture<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 School librarian &#8211; an agent of change in modern educational approaches to teaching<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 New approaches in the all-life learning system of teacher-librarians<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b><br \/>\nTYPES OF PRESENTATIONS<br \/>\nProposals for presentation should be one of\u00a0 four types:<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Workshops (90 minutes or 180 minutes) on a focused topic related to the conference theme, where participants are actively involved in the learning process. They may comprise small or large group discussions, collaborative activities and exercises, or opportunities to practice applying the concepts that are presented. Workshops are not intended to be extended lectures, but are hands-on learning opportunities.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Professional presentations (20 minutes each) on a topic related to the theme of the conference, which represent descriptions of programs, projects, activities, and\/or innovations that are of relevance to a diverse audience and contribute to their professional development.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Research presentations (20 minutes each) on a topic related to the theme of the conference, which represent findings from investigations (either complete or in-progress, but not proposals) that would be of interest to an international audience.<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Posters (a designated time will be set for presenters to display and meet viewers) of projects or research on a topic related to the theme of the conference.<\/p>\n<p>The Proposal Form can be downloaded<big> <\/big><\/b><b><big><b><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">here\u00a0<\/span>.<\/b><\/big><br \/>\nProposals for posters should be accompanied by a preliminary sketch in a single PowerPoint slide (proposal for poster must be sent via email).<br \/>\nAll proposals must be in English.<\/p>\n<p>Persons who are new to submitting conference proposals may find the following resources useful:<br \/>\nWriting Successful Conference Presentation Proposals<br \/>\nWriting a successful conference paper proposal<br \/>\nWriting a Great Conference Proposal<br \/>\nPlanning, developing and writing an effective conference abstract<br \/>\nWriting conference abstracts<br \/>\nWhat makes a good conference abstract<\/p>\n<p>ORIGINALITY<br \/>\nAll proposals must be original, and not have been presented at any other conference, or published or submitted for publication in a journal.<\/p>\n<p>SELECTION OF PROPOSALS<br \/>\nAll proposals will be subjected to a double blind peer-review process.<br \/>\nProposals will be reviewed based on the following criteria:<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Workshops, Professional papers and Posters \u2013 Relevance to theme of conference, Originality, Practical implications (where relevant), Interest to diverse audience<br \/>\n\u2022\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Research papers \u2013 Relevance to theme of conference, Clarity of objectives, Significance of research, Appropriateness of design\/methodology\/approach, Findings (or Expected findings), Originality, Interest to diverse audience<br \/>\nThe decision of the Program Committee shall be final, and no appeals will be entertained.<\/p>\n<p>SUBMISSION OF PROPOSALS<br \/>\nProposals may be an attachment to on <a href=\"https:\/\/mail.csulb.edu\/owa\/redir.aspx?C=g-LjerpWrkaENgRqIcZ6eWKLJ68Dz9AIvxjKvIj2GrGmLA1seCcU1lo5cmqCLCDeKeHifDi5XkI.&amp;URL=mailto%3aiasl2014%40rusla.ru\"> iasl2014@rusla.ru<\/a>\u00a0 before 1 March 2014.<br \/>\nPlease note that all expenses, including conference registration, travel, accommodation, visas, etc. are the responsibility of the authors\/presenters. No financial support can be provided by IASL or the Organizing Committee.
